Remembering 9/11 a day that will live on in our hearts forever!!!!!

As we remember back 10 years ago we can never forget all the hardships people faced. Along with all the heroes that gave there lives so that others could live, and the people who stopped to help others that they didn't even know. Many people are alive today because of this. Bless all who went through this terrible day!!!

Gem Co. Fire Dist. #2 is celebrating the award of two FEMA grants. The first is for a new fire truck for the amount of $225,000. The second grant for $178,000 is for personal protection equipment which includes new turnouts and self contained breathing apparatus for each volunteer, also included will be a compressor and a cascade system to fill the oxygen cylinders. The fire district is required to pay a 10% match, or about $40,000 to get the grants, which is considered a good investment for the return we would receive.
The fire district also received a HUD Block Grant for $319,000 for the Sweet- Montour fire station which will be built on land the Hartgrove family donated south of Sweet at Butte RD. The Sweet, Ola and Montour communities are raising funds to help cover the match money and extra necessities for the station that the funding will not cover. ALL SUPPORT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Proposed bill 149

This is a very important meeting because if this passes, we people with horses, will be in trouble, big trouble with potentially having to place IDs on all the horses and keep records etc.

Could be very costly. I tried to find more info on the Idaho Horse Council Website, but there was nothing mentioned.
This e-mail originated from the Idaho Horse Council however.

If you don't know about what they are planning to do to:

Any one owning a horse if they become companion animals, please call the # below to become informed.
This is serious. Please pass this on to your horsey friends & lets have a great big turnout.

TODAY, Thursday, February 17, 2011 there is an important meeting at 4 pm at the Garden Level at the State Capital.

This concerns the proposed bill HB 149 to make horses companion animals.
Please wear your cowboy hat and attend the meeting if at all possible.

Missing Boy Found

MISSING BOY FOUND SAFE!!

From KTVB.com: EMMETT -- A missing autistic teenager from Emmett has been found safe.Fourteen-year-old Michael Trester hadn't been seen since 8:30 p.m. Monday.Gem County authorities say Michael was found walking near Black Canyon Dam around 2 p.m. He is reportedly doing OK....Before search crews left this morning they were told to look in bushes, garages, trees and even knock on doors because Michael could be hiding anywhere. The Gem County sheriff told us Michael's dad noticed he was missing around bedtime. The Trester family has a shop in the back of their home where Michael likes to do homework. He went to check on Michael, but he wasn't there. The sheriff says they searched their property then drove around the neighborhood looking for their son until 4:30 a.m. That's when they called the sheriff."We're very concerned because he's autistic," said Gem County Sheriff Chuck Rolland. "We're have very, very high hopes of finding him safely. And we don't suspect anything other than the fact that Michael has strayed away from the house, and if anything, he's hiding from us at this point in time." Crews started their search near Michael's home and are working their way away from his house.Over 100 volunteers assisted fire and police crews in their search. The sheriff said that this is not the first time Michael has gone missing.Authorities have never been called but the sheriff says his parents have found him hidden in neighbors RVs and garages before.
